Prince William Freshman Democrats Ignore Business Community

Not One of the Prince William Democrats Showed Up For Chamber of
Commerce Candidates Forum

WOODBRIDGE, VA – On Monday, September 30, the bipartisan Prince William
Chamber of Commerce held a Candidates Forum and none of the Prince
William Democrat Delegates showed up to participate. This comes two
weeks after the Virginia Chamber of Commerce released their 2019
Legislative Report Card, giving all of the Prince William freshman
Democrats an “F” or “D” for their 2019 voting records.

“I remember the days when the local Chamber of Commerce was a respected
organization by both political parties,” said Bill Card, chairman of the
Prince William County Republican Committee. “It’s so disappointing that
even economic development and business issues aren’t supported by the
Democrat progressive base anymore.

Card continued, “I will admit that some political organizations out
there can be very partisan and biased towards one political Party; the
Chamber of Commerce has never been that. This November’s election is a
clear contrast between Republicans who support economic development and
small businesses in Prince William County, and the Democrats who don’t
support our local Chamber of Commerce and the small businesses they
represent.”

In the 2019 Legislative Report Card, released on September 13, Delegates
Lee Carter and Elizabeth Guzman earned two of the three lowest scores in
the entire Commonwealth, at 40 and 50, respectively. Legislators were
scored on their position for bills that would keep Virginia’s economy
strong, such as the creation of the Tech Talent Investment Program,
offering more health care choices for consumers, and tax reform. They
received negative marks for bills that would cost Virginia jobs and have
an adverse affect on our economic growth and competitiveness.
